Carmelo Hayes Comments On WWE Raw Debut

Carmelo Hayes made his WWE main roster debut on the June 26 edition of Monday Night Raw as he first prevented Finn Balor from attacking Seth Rollins with a steel chair before he went one-on-one with Balor later in the night. Hayes wouldn't be successful in his first match on Raw, though, and he lost to Balor following a Coup de Grace.

In a Raw exclusive interview on YouTube, Hayes reflected on his debut.  

"I mean, shoot, I can't take away from Finn Balor, Judgment Day. Finn is one of the best in the world. If I gotta take a loss to one of the best in the world, I can accept that. But listen, the important thing is tomorrow night against Baron Corbin for the NXT Championship. I'm not 100%, but I believe I can beat Baron at 75%, at 50%, at 25%. I know he's gonna put up a great fight, but I'm ready, man. I might have taken a loss, but I look in the mirror and I'm still Carmelo Hayes, so that's a W," he said.

Hayes also tweeted: "Debuted on #WWERaw. Gotta let it sink in... Dream come true. Win or loss, still HIM."

The NXT Champion will defend his title against Baron Corbin tonight during night two of NXT Gold Rush. Hayes has been the NXT Champion since defeating Bron Breakker at Stand & Deliver in April.
