Baron Corbin Brings Back 'The Lone Wolf' At WWE NXT Gold Rush

Baron Corbin was The Lone Wolf once again on WWE NXT

Baron Corbin revived an old gimmick on Tuesday, June 27.

The former constable challenged Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship in the main event of WWE NXT Gold Rush and Corbin hoped an old gimmick would power him to victory as he brought back 'The Lone Wolf' on NXT, making his way to the ring to his old entrance theme and wearing Lone Wolf ring gear. The only difference was Corbin's long hair is long gone.

NXT's commentary team repeatedly called Corbin 'The Lone Wolf' but the former United States Champion was unable to capture the NXT Title and Carmelo Hayes put Corbin away following his Nothing But Net finisher. Corbin did come close at one point, hitting a Deep Six, but he was never able to connect with the End of Days.

Corbin was previously featured as The Lone Wolf on NXT and the main roster between 2014 and 2018. He abandoned the gimmick after a hiatus, returning with a shaved head and a shirt as Constable Corbin. The former NFL player has since had a number of new gimmicks, including King Corbin, Sad Corbin, and Happy Corbin.

The 38-year-old hinted at The Lone Wolf's return in May after he mentioned he wanted to revive elements of the gimmick.
