Chad Gable Earns WWE Intercontinental Title Shot

GUNTHER's next WWE Intercontinental Championship defence is set.

Following his defeat of Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER's next title defence is confirmed.

Last night's Raw saw Chad Gable win a four-way number-one contender's match in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, defeating Ricochet, Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa (with a pinfall on the latter.)

The match was put together onscreen by Adam Pearce, who commented that all four were one win away from greatness. He added Ricochet to the bout after the high-flier complained about the unfair nature of his loss to Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam. Paul used brass knuckles to defeat Ricochet in the opening bout of the pay-per-view.

Gable vs. GUNTHER will elongate a recent feud between the two, one which began when Gable lasted five minutes with the Intercontinental Champion, only for GUNTHER to demand more time to be added, eventually securing victory. After that particular episode of Raw, Gable cut a promo on the champion, vowing that it wouldn't be the last GUNTHER saw of him. That now certainly seems to be the case.
