Chad Gable Wouldn't Be Surprised If Showcase Matches Become A WWE WrestleMania Tradition

Chad Gable thinks the "WrestleMania showcase" matches could become a staple

Going into WrestleMania 39, the two fatal-four way “WrestleMania showcase” tag team matches were among the least anticipated bouts on the card. The men’s match in particular exceeded all expectations, and one of the stars of the match, Chad Gable, believes it could now become a staple of WWE’s biggest show of the year.

Alpha Academy appeared on the Out Of Character podcast, with Chad Gable discussing the success of the match and what the future may hold for the “WrestleMania showcase”;

“I think when that match got announced (men’s tag showcase at WrestleMania), a lot of people thought, oh, they’re just throwing this on the card to get a bunch of guys a match, you know, whatever, fair enough. But, we didn’t look at it that way. I think all of us treated it like, this is our chance, chip on our shoulder. We got a chance to prove something here that not only did we deserve to be on this show from the beginning but if they’re gonna do it and call it a showcase thing, that’s exactly what we’re gonna give ‘em and don’t be surprised if going forward, this becomes a tradition where they do this showcase thing because we showed them what we can do when they give us an opportunity like that.”

The Street Profits emerged victorious in the men’s match, defeating Alpha Academy, The Viking Raiders, and Braun Strowman & Ricochet. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler would win the women’s match, outlasting Liv Morgan & Raquel Gonzalez, Shotzi & Natalya, and Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville.
