Challenger Revealed For STRONG Openweight Title At NJPW Rumble On 44th Street

New Japan have made their triumphant return to New York, with tonight’s Rumble on 44th Street event the second in a two-day extravaganza.

Prior to New Japan’s New York trip, STRONG Openweight Champion Fred Rosser found himself without an opponent for the October 28 show, throwing out an open challenge to anyone within professional wrestling.

After defeating former WCW star Crowbar at the Night Before Rumble on 44th Street event on October 27, Rosser’s challenge was accepted by former Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham.

Gresham’s match on October 28 will be his first in a New Japan ring since November 2021, when ‘The Octopus’ defeated Gabriel Kid for NJPW STRONG in California.
