Charlotte Flair Against Unifying WWE Women's Titles

The WWE SmackDown Women's Champion has no plans to combine her title and its Raw counterpart.

WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair has no desire to unify the top two women's titles in the promotion. Speaking to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Charlotte was asked who she'd like to wrestle in the future, and explained:

"Well, I've never had a program with [Raw Women's Champion] Bianca [Belair.] It would have to be her. [...] I don't recommend a unification program because I feel that would mean less opportunities for the women. It was cool for one of the girls to have both titles at one time, but it takes a lot of spots away."

The two major men's titles in WWE were unified at last year's WrestleMania when Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. He has held onto both championships ever since, although their respective lineages are both currently still active, and both are still represented by individual physical belts.

As both women currently hold the championships of their respective brands, a match between the two could be some distance away at present. Charlotte is set to defend the SmackDown Women's title at WrestleMania 39 against Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley. Belair will also put her title on the line at the show, defending against Asuka who recently won an Elimination Chamber match to become number one contender.
