Charlotte Flair Explains Why She Destroyed Lilly At WWE Extreme Rules 2021

Charlotte Flair says she ripped up Lilly the doll following her successful Raw Women's Championship defence against Alexa Bliss at WWE Extreme Rules to remind her opponent who she really is.

Flair retained the Raw Women's Title against Bliss at Sunday's pay-per-view after using Lilly as a distraction, before then tearing the doll into pieces in the centre of the ring. The action prompted a furious and emotional response from Bliss.

Speaking in a backstage interview following the show, when asked if she really needed to destroy Lilly, Charlotte said: "You see, that’s the problem. You’re encouraging Alexa by asking about Lilly. I want to know how Alexa feels after she failed to win the RAW Women’s Championship. That’s the problem. I don’t want to to talk about Lilly.

"The Alexa I faced tonight was the old Alexa. It was the Alexa I saw when she held the RAW Women’s Championship multiple times. Tonight, she fought me and faced me. Yes, I’m still the Queen, but that’s the Lexi we all want to see. I don’t want to hear about Lilly.

“Ripping up Lilly was a wakeup call. A wakeup call to remind her that she’s still a champion at heart."
