Chris Jericho Addresses AEW Backstage Fight Between CM Punk & The Elite

Chris Jericho on the AEW backstage fight

Chris Jericho has indirectly addressed the AEW backstage fight between The Elite, CM Punk, and Ace Steel, telling Howie Mandel Does Stuff:

"There was a locker room fight that happened a couple months ago between a couple of guys. When these things happen, you have to deal with them. Sometimes, the way to deal with it is guys just have to not be there anymore."

The fight between Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, CM Punk, and Ace Steel took place after Punk's post-All Out media scrum during which he took shots at the AEW EVPs, Colt Cabana, and Hangman Page. All five men were suspended following the incident but The Elite look set to return to AEW in the near future. CM Punk, meanwhile, is reportedly in talks with AEW about a contract buyout and Ace Steel has been released.

Chris Jericho reportedly told CM Punk following the incident that he was a 'cancer to the locker room' and a 'detriment' to the promotion. The Painmaker has also established himself as one of the locker room leaders in AEW with Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson since All Out.

Another AEW talent in Matt Hardy recently spoke about the backstage fight, saying that The Elite did nothing wrong.
