Chris Jericho Cast In New Jay And Silent Bob Movie

He just made the cut...

In the 12 years that passed between Clerks and Clerks II, there were countless instances in which the comically-aloof and outspoken Jay could have been astutely referred to as a "stupid idiot". That verbiage may be spoken aloud soon enough.

Actor/director Kevin Smith revealed on Instagram today that Chris Jericho will be playing a part in the forthcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, with a currently-undetermined release date. Smith confirmed that Jericho filmed his scenes last week, adding that the current AEW star was, "cast waaaaay against type".

Jericho's previous filmography includes the 2010 comedy MacGruber (in which he appeared alongside various WWE stars of the day), as well as lesser known fare, such as the 2006 sci-fi movie Android Apocalypse, and a 2009 horror film entitled Albino Farm.

The film follows the events of 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Smith has said it's, "literally the same f**king movie all over again". Some of the regulars from the Jay and Silent Bob films, including Brian O'Halloran (Dante) and Jason Lee (Brodie) have been officially cast as well.
