Chris Jericho On AEW: "We Have Changed The Entire Business, Just By Being In Existence."

"The Alpha" speaks on changing times...

Chris Jericho spoke with Busted Open Radio about the ongoing transformation of the wrestling industry in 2019, which began with the advent of All Elite Wrestling, and continues through the present changes in WWE's programming and hierarchy.

Jericho spoke specifically about WWE's reaction programming-wise (namely NXT's move to cable on Wednesday nights) to AEW's momentum, saying in part, "You can add as many wrestling shows as you want to during the week; whatever you want to do, we don't care. We're doing our own little thing, and we're hot. Anything that's done as a defensive reaction to us being hot, just makes us hotter and cooler.

"We're hot right now. We're the hot company."

Jericho also spoke about the historical relevance of AEW, saying, "We have changed the entire business, just by being in existence. When is the last time that's happened? I can't remember because I wasn't born in the '30s or '40s. This is the first time ever that people are getting a chance to be a part of a major league company, right out of the gate. I think that appeals to a lot of people that want to be part of this historical moment."

Jericho will be in action at AEW All Out in Chicago on August 31. He faces Adam "Hangman" Page to determine the first company World champion.
