Chris Jericho Shows Up At Vietnamese Wrestling Show

Chris Jericho arrived in VPW

2023 has been a wild year in professional wrestling, and with the likes of CM Punk recently showing up in WWE, it feels like anyone can show up anywhere at any time. That happened last night as Chris Jericho appeared in the Vietnamese promotion VPW.

Clips surfaced on social media of Chris Jericho walking around ringside and then getting into the ring, in what was an unannounced appearance. According to F4WOnline, Jericho cut a promo to the crowd.

Jericho showing up in VPW isn’t entirely random, as earlier this year Jericho had the VPW founder Rocky Huynh on the Talk Is Jericho podcast in an episode which explored the history of VPW. The description for the episode is as follows;

“Rocky Huynh grew up loving pro wrestling, and that inspired him to start the first and only wrestling promotion in Vietnam – Vietnam Pro Wrestling. Rocky, and VPW English commentator, the Canadian-born Carey Wass, share the incredible and unlikely story of Vietnam Pro Wrestling from their early days wrestling on mats with no ring, to having veteran Japanese wrestler Fugo Fugo Yumeji come to Saigon to train them to putting on their first show and finally getting a real ring. They talk about the help they’ve received along the way from Pete [Dunne] (of NXT fame) and Viva Van (who’s appeared on AEW), and what they hope to achieve in the coming year. They also introduce their talented roster, and describe some of their flagship live shows.”
