Chris Jericho To Find New Partner For AEW World Tag Team Title Challenge

Chris Jericho will still challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Titles

The AEW World Tag Team Championship scene received a blow as Kenny Omega of the Golden Jets was ruled out of action indefinitely after being diagnosed with diverticulitis. He and Chris Jericho were originally set to challenge Big Bill & Ricky Starks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Worlds End, but those plans have now changed.

At last night’s AEW Collision, it was revealed what course AEW would be taking with this match. Chris Jericho confronted a cocky Big Bill and Ricky Starks backstage, and told them he would find a tag team partner to fill the void of Kenny Omega at the PPV event.

It isn’t known how long Omega will be out of action, and whether or not this tag team replacement will serve to be a temporary or long-term replacement.

The updated card for Worlds End now looks like this;

  • MJF (c) vs. Samoa Joe - AEW World Championship
  • Toni Storm (c) vs. Riho - AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Ricky Starks & Big Bill (c) vs. Chris Jericho & ??? - AEW World Tag Team Championships
  • TBA vs. TBA - AEW Continental Classic Finals for the Triple Crown Championship
  • Christian Cage (c) vs. Adam Copeland - TNT Championship no disqualification
  • Julia Hart (c) vs. Abadon - TBS Championship
  • Hook (c) vs. Wheeler Yuta - FTW Championship
