Chris Jericho Vs. Bandido Added To 9/28 AEW Dynamite

For the ROH World title

New ROH World Champion Chris Jericho already has his first defence of the title lined up, taking on former champion Bandido on this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.

Jericho won the title on last week's "Grand Slam" edition of Dynamite in New York, defeating Claudio Castagnoli.

Jericho is also scheduled to have a "championship celebration" on Wednesday's Dynamite, involving members of the Jericho Appreciation Society (including a clearly reluctant Daniel Garcia).

Bandido is a former ROH World Champion, holding the title for five months in 2021 from July 11 to December 11, after defeating Rush. He was unable to defend the belt at the 2021 Final Battle pay-per-view due to a positive COVID test, but did go on to lose to interim champion Jonathan Gresham in April to unify the two belts.

The current card for this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, taking place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, includes the following:

  • Jon Moxley vs. Juice Robinson - AEW World Championship Eliminator
  • Chris Jericho (c) vs. Bandido - ROH World Championship
  • Chris Jericho ROH World Title celebration
  • MJF speaks
  • Saraya speaks
