Christian Cage Scheduled For Impact Wrestling Tapings

The new champ is headed to Nashville

New Impact World champion Christian Cage will be on hand for this coming week's Impact Wrestling tapings in Nashville.

Impact will tape Monday, August 16, and Tuesday, August 17 at Skyway Studios, ahead of their special event Emergence on Friday night (also taking place in Nashville).

Cage will be defending his newly-won championship at Friday night's event against Brian Myers.

Cage won the title from Kenny Omega on Friday night on the premiere broadcast AEW Rampage in Pittsburgh, despite interference from Don Callis and The Young Bucks. Omega's reign as champion ended after 110 days. Overall, it's Cage's third different World title held under the Impact Wrestling banner.

Cage wrestled for Impact Wrestling (then known as Total Nonstop Action) from November 2005 to November 2008. In that time, Cage twice held the NWA World title (TNA's primary belt until May 2007).

Christian's last match in Impact occurred on November 9, 2008, when he lost to Booker T at that year's Turning Point pay-per-view. He went on to make one additional appearance in 2012 (while under WWE contract) to induct Sting into Impact's Hall of Fame.
