Keith Lee remains absent from All Elite Wrestling despite reportedly having been cleared to compete earlier this summer.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has not wrestled in 20 months after taking time away from AEW due to undisclosed health reasons. In an update on Fightful Select, it is stated that Lee’s name has been ‘tossed around here and there’ backstage in AEW, and there is hope that Lee could wrestle in an AEW ring - although this is based on nothing concrete.

Lee noted in June that he is ‘quite fine’ and that a return is not up to him, with the ‘Limitless One’ having visited backstage at AEW TV tapings in his home state of Texas earlier in 2025.

If and when Lee does return to AEW, then there is certainly unfinished business with former tag partner Swerve Strickland, with the two originally meant to compete at Worlds End 2023 in singles competition. Lee was subsequently pulled from the match, with Dustin Rhodes replacing him. Indeed, Lee’s last match was a singles win over Brian Cage at Holiday Bash 2023, a week before his planned Worlds End bout.
