Keith Lee, Swerve Strickland Win AEW World Tag Team Titles

Bask in their golden glory

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland are the new AEW World Tag Team champions, after winning a three way match at AEW's Fyter Fest: Night One in Savannah, GA.

Lee and Strickland outlasted champions The Young Bucks and fellow challengers Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs to win the titles. The finish came after Lee hit Starks with the Pounce, then took out both Bucks and Hobbs on the floor with a flipping suicide dive. Strickland then came off the top rope with the Swerve Stomp onto the prone Starks to win.

To continue the story of mild distrust between Lee and Strickland, at one juncture during the match, it appeared that Strickland was considering hitting an unsuspecting Lee with one of the Tag Team belts, but thought better of it.

This marks the first title reign of any sort in AEW for both Lee and Strickland. Lee debuted in AEW on the February 9 episode of Dynamite, while Strickland first appeared at Revolution on March 6.

The Bucks' second reign as AEW World Tag Team champions ends after 28 days. The two won the belts from Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in a ladder match on the June 15 episode of Dynamite in St. Louis.
