Claim Suggests RevPro Turned Down $1 Million From WWE

Will Ospreay made the comments during a recent press conference.

Will Ospreay has claimed that British independent promotion Revolution Pro Wrestling turned down a $1 million offer from WWE.

Speaking during a press conference following New Japan Pro Wrestling's Destruction in Kobe event, The Aerial Assassin made the remark while building his upcoming IWGP United Kingdom Heavyweight Championship defence against Zack Sabre Jr.:

"We are the two guys that were the backbone of British wrestling, the two guys that made it succeed, the two guys that were the bridge to New Japan Pro Wrestling — to allow El Phantasmo to come over, to allow Dan Moloney, Francesco Akira, Callum Newman, and so many other people to cross over from Revolution Pro Wrestling, a small independent UK company that had a million dollars from WWE, and he turned it down because he believed in Revolution Pro Wrestling," Ospreay said.

It has been suggested that Ospreay may have been referring to an offer that was reportedly made in 2018, which would have allowed UK-based WWE talent to appear for RevPro.

According to The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the deal would have prevented RevPro from partnering with NJPW.
