Claudio Castagnoli Thinks The Elite & Blackpool Combat Club Post-Blood & Guts Handshake Should Have Aired On AEW TV

Claudio Castagnoli wanted the BCC/Elite handshake to air before Dynamite finished

It was noted by several fans in attendance at Wednesday’s Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite that there was stuff that went down after the show went off air. For instance, Kota Ibushi took a bump into the thumbtacks on his own volition, and Kenny Omega also cut a promo stating that Ibushi would likely be in AEW again, and that in the future he himself would be following wherever the Young Bucks go.

Another interesting development after the gruesome bloodbath that was Blood & Guts saw the members of the Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta) shaking hands with The Golden Elite, seemingly putting an end to their rivalry. Castagnoli spoke on this moment in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

“We lost that battle but we won the war. Thanks to the Blackpool Combat Club, now The Elite is better than ever. We brought them to a place they’ve never been. The post-match between the BCC and The Elite, with Kenny talking and we all shook hands, that probably should have been on television, but it shows that there is nothing like being there in-person. There is nothing like being there live.”

Castagnoli would go on just days later to defend his ROH World Championship against PAC at Death Before Dishonor, bouncing back from his Blood & Guts loss.
