Report: MJF & Adam Cole T-Shirt Sets 2023 AEW Record
MJF and Adam Cole's new shirt has been setting records
The unlikely tandem of AEW World Champion MJF and Adam Cole has set the world on fire in recent weeks. The former rivals have been turned into buddies after being drawn together in the AEW Tag Team Title Blind Eliminator tournament, and it has birthed several fun segments and hot matches. Fans have certainly been getting on board with this duo and the chemistry they’ve portrayed, and this is backed up by the numbers.
During their storyline together, MJF “created” the ‘Better Than You BayBay’ t-shirt for the tag team, which was subsequently put on sale on AEW’s shop. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that this t-shirt has broken records in 2023, with it becoming the most sold shirt in AEW within this year already, despite being only up for grabs for a short period of time. Additionally, it has brought in the most money than nearly any other t-shirt too, behind only a more expensive MJF shirt. The report noted;
“The MJF & Adam Cole T-shirt “Better than You Bay Bay” in the last few weeks since the release has sold more numbers of shirts than any AEW shirt has for all of 2023. It’s also the shirt that has been pushed harder than any shirt on the Dynamite show, particularly by MJF last week. It is the second highest grossing shirt of the year behind an MJF button down shirt that has a higher price point.”
