CM Punk Calls Eddie Kingston The Best Promo In Wrestling Today

Punk concurs with the sentiments of many

CM Punk may have wrestled his last match more than seven years ago, but his name remains tethered to the business by fans who miss the "Best in the World". And as such, the former WWE and ROH champion is often asked his opinions on the modern wrestling industry.

During a Twitter Q&A on Friday, Punk was asked who he felt the best promo in wrestling today was, to which Punk succinctly replied, "Eddie Kingston."

Kingston was voted "Best On Interviews" by the readers of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter in 2020, the same award previously bestowed upon Punk in 2011 and 2012.

Kingston's AEW debut last summer began with him cutting a fiery promo on then-TNT champion Cody Rhodes. That promo went a long way in getting him signed to the company the following week, along with a groundswell of fan support on social media.

In the same Q&A, current ROH performer Danhausen asked Punk if he could borrow his old Straight Edge Society mask as a means of squeezing more money for himself out of the Ring of Honor office. Punk expressed willingness to do so, but admitted he'd have to find the mask first.
