CM Punk Discusses Possibility Of WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Appearance

WWE Backstage analyst speaks...

CM Punk ended a five-year hiatus from WWE, debuting on Fox's WWE Backstage show last week.

Punk's new co-star, Booker T, believes a return to the ring for the Straight Edge Superstar is inevitable. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker said: "He's gonna have the itch. Of course he's gonna get the itch ...CM Punk is probably gonna look at the roster and say, 'Man, I think I can work better than this guy. Man, I know I can work better than him. Oh, good God. Coach, put me in the game!' It's one of those type of deals."

Punk himself, however, has distanced himself from an in-ring return. During a Twitter Q&A, rapper Wale asked the Voice Of The Voiceless if he was going to return at the Royal Rumble, to which Punk replied: "Nope. I'll talk about it though. I work for FOX!"

The former WWE Champion instead seems happy catching up on all the professional wrestling he has missed over the last five years, tweeting: "It IS weird trying to catch up on 5+ years of rasslin', I'm doing what I can. There's bright spots, mostly women from what I can tell. There's BAD too. I'm gonna talk about it, and no one is safe. Join us."
