CM Punk Mocks The Toronto Crowd Following AEW Collision

CM Punk took to the mic after AEW Collision

CM Punk wasn’t greeted with the most welcome of reactions when he emerged on AEW Collision in front of a raucous Toronto crowd, with him being drowned in boos as well as cheers. As noted on commentary, this was very different to being in Chicago.

The team of CM Punk, FTR, and Ricky Starks came up short in the Collision main event to the team of Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson) and The Gunn Club, and after the show ended Punk took to the microphone to address the audience. In a very sarcastic cadence and tone, Punk had this to say.

"I would like to make this short and sweet. As the team captain, I take full responsibility for the loss. I want you all to know, even though I lose sometimes, I'm going to keep on coming back and fighting, just like your Toronto Maple Leafs”.

On the surface, these comments are that of a babyface, but the way he said it and the undertones of what he said were easy to see, with of course him referencing the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs only keep fighting because they lost so often. Punk looked to be having the time of his life riling up the audience.
