CM Punk Shuts Down Rumours Of AJ Lee Returning To Wrestle In AEW
AJ Lee hasn't wrestled since 2015
CM Punk has moved to quell rumours that his wife, AJ Lee, could follow his lead and return to wrestling in the near future.
With Punk ending a seven-year, self-imposed exile from wrestling by signing with All Elite Wrestling last month, fans have speculated whether former WWE Divas Champion Lee could also make a comeback, and potentially join her husband in signing for AEW.
However, Punk has put an end to the speculation, saying his wife's neck issues will stop her from making any kind of return.
Speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Punk said: "I just want to say, no. Just because [of] her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know.
"I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize [her] health and neither would she, so we’ll put an end to that rumour right now."
Lee hasn't wrestled since 2015 when she left WWE due to permanent damage to her cervical spine.
