CM Punk: There Are So Many "Dream Situations" In AEW

Punk is excited about being in AEW

CM Punk believes there are so many "dream situations" for him in All Elite Wrestling.

Beyond a brief stint on WWE Backstage and a role in Starz series 'Heels', CM Punk had mostly been out of the professional wrestling sphere since he departed WWE in 2014. That all changed on AEW Rampage: The First Dance on August 20, though, as The Second City Saviour returned to wrestling inside Chicago's United Center.

Punk will take on former TNT Champion Darby Allin for his AEW in-ring debut at All Out on September 5, and the 42-year-old is looking forward to plenty of other "dream situations" in the promotion.

Speaking during the post-Rampage media scrum, Punk said: "Yes [I'm excited], 100 percent. I get excited about the prospect of me working with [Brian Pillman Jr.], [Powerhouse] Hobbs, Ricky Starks, Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley. I've never worked with a Jon Moxley before. Literally, just everybody. I've never done anything with the Young Bucks, I've never been in the ring with Kenny Omega. I think there are so many 'dream matches,' I think is what people call them, but just dream situations, you know? And who knows who else is coming. I don't know. You [Tony] probably know, you're the boss and all that, but there's different combinations that I think people can get excited about and it just feels live and I'm jazzed to be here."

"I'm excited to be here and I said it in the promo, I'm here for the fans," he continued. "I'm here for me, I'm not a liar, I'm not going to lie, but if you tell me this is going to be fun again and I can go out there and have the time of my life? That's the juice for me. I think it's limitless possibilities, I really do believe that. It feels like an environment where anything can happen, it's live TV, let's have fun."

Following his debut on Rampage, Punk will make his Dynamite debut this week on August 25.
