Cody Predicts 2022 Will Be A Banner Year For AEW

Big things on the horizon

All Elite Wrestling EVP Cody Rhodes believes 2022 can be a big year for the promotion and The American Nightmare is hoping some more international talent can appear on AEW TV later this year.

Appearing on FITE In Focus ahead of AEW's first 'Battle Of The Belts' Special, Rhodes said: "I see AEW having a very big banner year. The specials are part of it in 2022. Maybe, it's just from me, not from AEW, we may see some international flavour now that travel bans are now loosening up. That's just me."

Rhodes also noted that 2022 could be a banner year for the promotion's business dealings, adding: "2022... I think it's easy to say it will be AEW's best year yet. We are moving into our next phase of our relationship with FITE, our relationship with WarnerMedia. New Talent is coming in, contracts coming up... All that crazy stuff you hear about makes for a really good wrestling television. Wrestling is best when it could be as real as it could be. As real as you could make it at least."

Beyond 2022 being a big year for AEW, Cody has previously hinted at big plans for himself in 2022 on Dynamite and Rampage, noting he is "not doing what's been done before."
