Cody Rhodes Challenges Brock Lesnar To WWE Backlash Match
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar is almost official for WWE Backlash
A major match looks to be on the cards for WWE Backlash.
Cody Rhodes appeared on WWE programming for the first time since he was laid out by Brock Lesnar on the April 10 edition of Monday Night Raw. The American Nightmare apologised for losing in the main event of WrestleMania 39 before he drew attention to being hit by a rubber chicken while he lay in the ring at the Show of Shows, saying that Lesnar turning on him last week was more embarrassing than the viral moment.
Rhodes then stated that he wanted Lesnar to see himself as Cody's next victim before he demanded the multi-time WWE Champion face him at Backlash on Saturday, May 6 in Puerto Rico.
Lesnar is set to return to WWE TV on next week's Raw in Little Rock, Arkansas to answer Cody's challenge.
Brock was originally set to team with Rhodes in the main event of the Raw after WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa but Lesnar ended up attacking Rhodes, leaving him lying after F5s through the announce table and onto the steel steps.
