Would the US people vote for 'The American Nightmare'?

Will we ever see a professional wrestler in the White House?

Following the news that current President of the United States Joe Biden would not be seeking re-election in November, a fan on X reached out to Cody Rhodes and told him "It's time for you to step up big dawg".

The current Undisputed WWE Champion wrote back "Maybe one day", suggesting he may have political aspirations in his future.

The American Nightmare would not be the first WWE star to seek political office, of course. Glenn Jacobs, AKA Kane, is the current Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, while his fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jesse 'The Body' Ventura previously served as Governor of Minnesota and Matt Morgan was the Mayor of Longwood, Florida.

The likes of Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Rhyno have unsuccessfully run for political positions in the past.

Cody's recent rival Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, meanwhile, has hinted previously that he may one day enter the race for president. In November 2023, Johnson reiterated that he was still open to doing so in the future.

Rhodes is clearly patriotic and has opted to wear red, white and blue gear exclusively since returning to WWE. He recently denied that his entrance attire was based on Homelander, however.
