Cody Rhodes Thinks Him Challenging For The AEW World Title Would Be An Easy Heel Turn

He has adhered to the stipulation so far

Back at Full Gear 2019, Cody Rhodes challenged Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship with the stipulation that if The American Nightmare lost, he could never challenge for the title again.

Cody ultimately came up short in the match after MJF threw in the towel and Rhodes and AEW have adhered to the stipulation so far.

Cody admitted during a recent interview with WFAN Sports Radio that he could challenge for the title again in the future, though, if Tony Khan decrees it and he believes it would be "the easiest heel turn in wrestling."

"I'm going to stick to my word on the AEW Title, but ultimately, that decision will rest on AEW owner Tony Khan. It's the easiest heel turn in wrestling if I was to break it. I love that we're disciplined and conservative, and presenting wrestling backwards," Rhodes stated.

While Cody hasn't challenged for the AEW World Championship since 2019, he was the inaugural TNT Champion and he has since enjoyed two reigns with the belt.
