Cody Rhodes Wins The 2023 Men's WWE Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes punches his ticket to WrestleMania 39 with his Men's Royal Rumble win

All Rhodes lead to WrestleMania 39.

After several months out of action, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE as the 30th entrant in the Men's Royal Rumble and went on to win the whole damn thing, last eliminating GUNTHER (who made history in the match) to punch his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 39.

GUNTHER and Cody Rhodes had a long battle after Cody eliminated the returning Logan Paul from the match. The Intercontinental Champion looked to have the match won on several occasions until Cody caught him with Cross Rhodes and dumped him over the top rope with a clothesline. Cody then paid tribute to Bullet Club and pointed at the WrestleMania sign, as is custom for a Royal Rumble winner.

Cody had long been tipped to win the Royal Rumble and while Sami Zayn, The Rock, and Stone Cole Steve Austin had been speculated upon in recent days, WWE ultimately did go with The American Nightmare as the 2023 Men's Royal Rumble winner.

Cody had been off WWE TV since June of 2022, when he suffered a torn pectoral muscle a few days before the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Rhodes would still wrestle in the main event of that show, defeating Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell in one of the best matches of the year.
