Colt Cabana Returns To AEW On Dynamite, Faces Chris Jericho

Cabana's first Dynamite match in a year

Colt Cabana returned to AEW's cable programming as the mystery opponent for ROH World champion Chris Jericho on Wednesday's Dynamite in Baltimore.

Late in the match, Cabana had Jericho down with the Superman pin, but Jake Hager pulled him off from the floor. Cabana followed up with a springboard moonsault onto Hager and Daniel Garcia on the outside, but when he returned to the ring, Jericho dropped him with the Codebreaker for the win.

The open challenge was for any former ROH titleholder of any sort, and Cabana is a former two-time ROH Tag Team champion alongside former friend CM Punk.

Following Cabana's entrance, the crowd loudly chanted "Welcome back".

For Cabana, it's his first match on either of AEW's cable programs since November 24 of last year, when he lost to Bryan Danielson on Dynamite in his native Chicago.

With the exception of three matches in August as part of the Gamescom convention in Germany, this is Cabana's first AEW match of any sort since a match on Dark back in March. Since then, Cabana has wrestled twice for Tony Khan's rebooted Ring of Honor, while working a regular indie schedule.
