Concern Backstage Over WWE NXT Direction Since Canyon Ceman's Sacking

It’s been a turbulent week for the Black & Gold brand

With multiple releases, potential contract expirations for Adam Cole and Pete Dunne, and rumours of a restructuring, NXT has been experiencing a turbulent couple of weeks.

According to reports from Fightful Select, there is concern for the future of NXT, all arising from Canyon Cemen’s sacking this past month. The report states that Ceman had plenty of heat with WWE and the Performance Centre, but apparently this is normal for whomever is dealing with talent relations. The report also states that when it was clear that Ceman was on his way out that concerns were raised about NXT’s direction, with several try-outs that were said to be ‘slam dunks’ passed on instead.

With the latest round of releases this weekend that saw the likes of Bronson Reed, Bobby Fish, and Mercedes Martinez let go, alongside the alleged ‘new focus’ on younger and taller talents, there is bound to be even more concerns, bound to exacerbate the ‘low morale’ that has been reported amongst the NXT staff.
