Toni Storm has been absent from All Elite Wrestling since March 2026 but the build to her return seemingly began at AEW WrestleDream when five cassette tapes containing the Toni Storm Tapes were handed out to content creators at the pay-per-view. The tape was contained within a brown package stamped 'Confidential' and 'Play Me' along with a red lipstick imprint.
Content creator Astrid Pizarro posted audio of the tape on YouTube, and the contents of the tape have been revealed. The tape is narrated by Renee Paquette, who began:
"It is the year 2026. No one has seen or heard from Toni Storm. But last Wednesday, a package arrived at the offices of AEW in Jacksonville, Florida. A brown paper package tied up with string and no return address. Inside, five analogue cassettes, all from an indeterminate past, all meticulously labelled. It was long rumoured that Toni had a recording device inside her purse capturing every conversation, every meeting, every moment. Well, now those rumours are true. These are the Toni Storm Tapes."
The first tape provided an inside glimpse into the everyday life of Toni Storm. Labelled 'Mundanity' and titled 'Warning Mantra', it contained audio of Storm waking up in the morning.
"And there she is. I look like a dried apple carving. Okay, let's begin. I am capable, strong, and ready to make the day my mistress. Today, I choose misery, conflict, and hostility in all that I do. I exude fragility, pettiness, and an unfillable void to everyone I see. I have no control or responsibility for my thoughts, emotions, and actions. I have everything I need and nothing I want. I face the day with resentment and scorn. My mind is a mess, my heart is in shambles, and my body is barely holding it together like an overstuffed garbage bag. But damnit, I am timeless. Alright, let’s start the day," Storm said.
The second tape titled 'Talking to Chauncey' was a recording of Storm speaking to her 12-year-old cocker spaniel, Chauncey, encouraging the dog to be sexually active.
"Hey, Chauncey. What a good boy, Chauncey. Take a chance, Chauncey. Take a chance, Chauncey. Oh, what a beautiful boy. Now you listen to me, I own you, I created you, and I can end you. You are nothing without me. You worship the ground I walk on or I will make your life a living hell. When company comes over, they're here to see me, not you. It’s not a time for your little tricks or performances. It’s not amateur hour with Chauncey, It’s my time. You will greet them, you will wait until I make one witty remark, and then Luther will escort you down to the basement to eat your rubbish. Otherwise you have one job and one job only; you are a humping machine and I want you to scour this damn neighbourhood making love to anything that moves. Because mama is in the mood to sell and I can make a pretty good penny off whatever half-breed hamster you manage to knock up. Call it something exotic, like a ham-dog. Did you hear me, you worthless, wantonous beast? Okay, Chauncey, let’s go for a walk," Storm added.
The third tape in the Toni Storm Tapes titled 'Seminar' was short and simply audio of the former AEW Women's World Champion telling a group of wrestling students, "Lesson number four, if you want to make it in this business you've got to get yourself a cool hat."
The fourth taped titled 'Cinema' was a brief interaction between Toni Storm and an unnamed man during the failed production of her self-funded movie, 'Toni, Toni, Toni.' The following interaction was contained on the tape:
Unknown man: "You better behave like a human being around here. This is outrageous."
Toni Storm: "Come on, man, lick my arse. We’re making a movie and we will put you in your place where you belong, you idiot. Shut up. You bother me. You are so stupid you are not aware of the consequences... Yeah, I know. You don’t f*cking care about anything."
Man: "In that case, I don’t care about the consequences."
Toni: "Nobody can live on this pig fodder. Nobody can be so stupid."
Man: "Then don’t eat it."
Toni: "Do you understand? I’m leaving. This is outrageous."
The final tape, labelled 'Death', did not contain any audio, but Renee Paquette described it as "fantastical, mysterious, and undeniably timeless."
Toni Storm has been gone from AEW TV since the post-Revolution episode of Dynamite. She was scheduled to face Marina Shafir in a No Holds Barred Match on the show but 10 minutes before Dynamite went on the air, footage of Storm being found laid-out in a pool of her own blood was posted to AEW's social media channels. Storm was then checked on by Mina Shirakawa and Luther.
It emerged soon after that Storm would not be wrestling for the remainder of 2026 but her sudden removal from TV was not because of an injury.
Toni Storm has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2022 and she is one of the top stars in the promotion. Storm holds the record for most AEW Women's World Title reigns at four, having held the belt for a combined 640 days.
