"The company (wwe) and I have decided to parted ways, and feel this is the best Decision for all parties it's been a pleasure and an honor to work with the young talent when bubba as well as everyone over in NXT. As well as working with some of the best producers in the world. Would mike to thank Vince , Paul(HHH), Stephanie, and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the Opportunity that was given. Dudley's departure from WWE comes only one month after the company reportedly threatened to fire D-Von over his advertised appearance at a Battleground Championship Wrestling show in December. D-Von was scheduled to second Bully Ray to the ring at the ECW tribute show.

Prior to his stint as a producer, D-Von was an in-ring talent alongside Dudley Boyz tag team partner Bubba Ray Dudley first from 1999 until 2005 before a second stint from August 2015 until August 2016.
