Dakota Kai has been pulled from the road by WWE following an injury suffered by the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Dakota Kai is off WWE TV after being diagnosed with a concussion. She won't be back in the ring until she passes WWE's concussion protocols.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer noted that Kai suffered the concussion on last week's Monday Night Raw following a springboard missile dropkick from Zoey Stark. Kai teamed with her Damage CTRL stablemate IYO SKY against Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler of the Pure Fusion Collective on the January 20 show.
Dakota Kai has suffered from multiple injury issues in recent years, spending 10 months out of action from May 2023 until March 2024 with a torn ACL. Kai was then out of action again from July until November 2024 after suffering a torn meniscus during WWE's house show tour of Japan.
In recent weeks, Dakota Kai had been involved in the Women's Intercontinental Title tournament. She made it to the final but ultimately lost to Lyra Valkyria.
