Dakota Kai Still "A Ways Away" From WWE In-Ring Comeback

Don't expect to see Dakota Kai in a WWE ring anytime soon despite her SummerSlam appearance

Dakota Kai made an unannounced appearance on last night’s SummerSlam PPV, getting into the ring to celebrate with her fellow Damage CTRL faction member Iyo Sky after the “Genius of the Skies” cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on an injured Bianca Belair to be crowned the brand new WWE Women’s Champion.

Kai has been out injured for a little while, not competing since all the way back in May. Kai’s SummerSlam cameo wasn’t a proper return though, with her providing an update on her injury status during the post-show SummerSlam press conference.

“I came because this is such a big moment for her and us as a group, but I’m still a ways away from being in-ring cleared, but I had to be here for her tonight. This is a crazy accomplishment for her, representing us as Damage CTRL, but yeah, 2024 is about to be crazy, we getting there, I’m squatting heavy, we good.”

Judging by Kai’s comments, Kai won’t be making a return to in-ring competition until perhaps next year.
