Dakota Kai Turns On Raquel Gonzalez On WWE NXT
Is King Kota looking for a shot at the NXT Women’s Title?
It finally happened, the alliance between NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai is no more, but whilst most of us predicted Gonzalez would turn on Kai, the opposite happened on last night’s edition of NXT.
Gonzalez was in the ring talking about how she had beaten everyone there is to beat in NXT, with Kai saying Raquel is the most dominant champion in NXT history, over the likes of Charlotte Flair, Asuka, and Shayna Baszler.
After Raquel threw out a challenge to anyone in the back for NXT TakeOver 36, no-one answered the call, with Kai noting that as long as she had Gonzalez’s back, Gonzalez would always be champion. Raquel then celebrated with the belt, but ate a boot to the face from Kai out of nowhere, with Dakota raising the NXT Women’s Title in the air.
It can be assumed that the two will face-off for the strap at TakeOver 36 on August 22, a fitting end to an on-screen pairing that was established in February 2020.
