Damian Priest Had Just Been Cleared From Injury Prior To WrestleMania 37

The changeover to a tag match came late

It was only on the Monday Night Raw episode five nights before WrestleMania 37 that Bad Bunny vs. The Miz became Bad Bunny and Damian Priest vs. The Miz and John Morrison.

As it turns out, the decision to change from a singles to a tag team match was due to Priest only recently gaining medical clearance from a back injury.

On the post-WrestleMania airing of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Priest's clearance was "last minute", and that it wasn't clear if Priest, even with clearance, could comfortably work a tag team bout.

Bunny and Priest ultimately prevailed in a match where Bunny was in the ring for a significant amount of time.

Priest's last match prior to WrestleMania was on the March 15 episode of Monday Night Raw, in which he defeated Jaxson Ryker in barely 30 seconds. His last match of significant length before then came against Elias on March 1.

The tag team match at WrestleMania earned a mostly positive response, particularly for Bunny's performance, which was favorably compared to other celebrity first-timers like Pat McAfee and Ronda Rousey.
