Damian Priest Misses Madison Square Garden SmackDown

Damian Priest's planned MSG main event was cancelled

WWE’s visit to Madison Square Garden for Friday Night SmackDown last night saw several big stars featured such as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, United States Champion Logan Paul, Randy Orton, The Bloodline, and more. After the show went off the air, the dark match main event for the evening was supposed to see RAW’s Damian Priest defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso, which would have no doubt been a huge honour for the pair.

Unfortunately for Priest, travel issues prevented him from making it to the show on time. The Judgment Day member provided updates for fans prior to the show on X, giving a commentary of the delays and problems which arose.

“Trying my best to make it. Plane issues making it very difficult.”

“Unfortunately the honor of main eventing The Garden is not possible tonight. Still haven't taken off. Stuck on a plane in a runway. Very disappointed and apologies to my people. This one hurts. Enjoy the show! #SmackDown I'm sure will be awesome.”

Instead of the planned World Heavyweight Title main event, Jey Uso took on Finn Balor in a Street Fight. The MSG edition of SmackDown saw The Bloodline deliver a brutal attack to Paul Heyman.
