A "situation" ultimately meant Damian Priest didn't kick out following Seth Rollins' Falcon Arrow at Money in the Bank, with Priest noting to the New York Post that he 'didn't want to get into anything medical around the situation, saying it was personal.'

Priest said:

"The idea that I forgot to kick out, that's not a thing. That's not a thing. We don't forget to kick out. Twenty years in, I'm pretty sure there is some kind of muscle memory there. So me forgetting was not the case. There was nothing outside that was supposed to happen. It was a matter of there was a situation, but I'm OK. Everybody's fine, the story continues.

"It doesn't affect anything. The show goes on and I think fans are very invested in everything that's going on. The ones that matter knew the situation and nobody thought twice about it. It was, move on."

Priest defended his World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank against Seth Rollins and the referee Rod Zapata was forced to stop the count when Priest didn't kick out. Drew McIntyre then made his way to the ring and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to make the match a Triple Threat.

Had the pinfall been called like a shoot, Damian Priest would have lost the World Heavyweight Title and CM Punk's interference would have caused a DQ win for McIntyre but kept Rollins as champion. This differed from the plan which ultimately went down of Damian Priest coming out on top following Punk's attack on McIntyre.

There was no heat on the referee for stopping the count.

Damian Priest has remained present on WWE TV since Money in the Bank and he will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther at SummerSlam on August 3.
