Damian Priest Was Told He'd Be Done In WWE If Bad Bunny Angle Failed

"They told me 'listen, you can't blow this because if you do, you're done.'"

Following the Royal Rumble, Damian Priest made his WWE Raw debut and forged an alliance with award-winning artist Bad Bunny.

The Archer Of Infamy was featured prominently alongside the rapper in the ensuing months and they teamed together against The Miz and John Morrison in a high profile match at WrestleMania 37.

The match and the partnership with Bad Bunny received an overwhelmingly positive reaction, which is good news for Priest because he was told he'd be done in WWE if the angle bombed.

"Yes (it does give me confidence). It goes both ways. I can put in all the work I want, but obviously I also need the company to believe in me and have my back. A lot of people were honest with me and they told me 'listen, you can't blow this because if you do, you're done.' All I said was you're giving me the opportunity, I'm going to do everything to my abilities to knock this out of the park," Priest told Sporting News Australia.

"I knew I had put in the work, so give me the opportunity and I will do my end. It goes both ways, and I think we both delivered so we brought our audience a product worthy of them being entertained and being happy to watch."

Since WrestleMania 37, Priest has continued to feud with The Miz and John Morrison. He has twice defeated Johnny Drip Drip in recent weeks and he will go one on one with The Miz in a Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash.
