Dario Cueto Revealed As Azteca Underground's El Jefe On MLW Fusion

The former on-screen owner of Lucha Underground is back

Dario Cueto was revealed as Azteca Underground's El Jefe in the season finale of MLW Fusion last night.

The previously mysterious El Jefe purchased Salina De La Renta's Promociones Dorado faction earlier this year and christened it Azteca Underground. Former Lucha Underground Champion Mil Muertes then made his MLW debut but he failed to capture the National Openweight Championship from Alexander Hammerstone in April.

The results ultimately disappointed El Jefe and De La Renta was kidnapped and brought to Boyle Heights, California to close out last night's Fusion. Cueto then revealed himself and noted his disappointment in De La Renta for failing to bring gold and violence. He wasn't too concerned, though, and he said he is building a new temple that requires sacrifices.

More will be revealed about Cueto and Azteca Underground when MLW Fusion returns on July 10. The new season will premiere in front of fans at the famous 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Cueto, (played by Luis Fernandez-Gil) was the on-screen owner of Lucha Underground and quickly became a fan favourite despite his heelish tendencies. Lucha Underground came to an end in 2018 after four seasons.
