Davey Boy Smith Jr. is no longer the Triple Crown Champion in All Japan Pro-Wrestling.

The son of the British Bulldog lost the Triple Crown to Jun Saito at All Japan's New Year's Eve show on December 31 in Tokyo. The loss ended Smith's reign after 57 days. He had been champion since defeating Yuma Aoyagi on November 4.

Smith addressed his loss on Instagram, writing: "It was a nice reference to Dory Funk Jr on commentary here. Who I have been studying quite a bit lately, especially his early days with Jumbo Tsuruta.

"Thanks for the All Japan fans who came and supported tonight's New Years Eve event also. I did not win tonight, however I will be back!!! 2025 will be another great year!!! Ganbatarimasu!"

Jun Saito is one of the top stars in AJPW. He and his twin brother Rei are the reigning AJPW World Tag Team Champions.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. has been a regular in All Japan since December 2023. He was only the sixth foreigner to hold the AJPW Triple Crown, joining the likes of Vader, Stan Hansen, and Terry Gordy in the history books.

The AJPW Triple Crown was established in 1989 when the NWA International Championship, NWA United National Championship, and the PWF Heavyweight Championship were combined. The championship was represented by three separate title belts until 2013.
