During a recent appearance at an independent show, WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas tried to pay tribute to the late Hulk Hogan. It did not go well.

According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the 71-year-old attempted to deliver a eulogy for The Hulkster at a Limitless Wrestling show on August 9. The fans in attendance didn't go for it, however, and booed Atlas to the point that he simply gave up.

In an update on the situation, Fightful Select noted that Atlas left the show feeling very frustrated and confused as to why he would be booed.

Though many in wrestling were critical of Hogan in the wake of various controversies during the last decade of his life, Atlas remained his friend and spoke highly of him.

During an interview with WMTW following Hogan's passing, Atlas said:

"Hogan would give you the shirt off of his back. He was more humble after he became champion than what he was before. He was always a very, very humble person."

Atlas has previously spoken about how Hogan helped get him back in WWE when he was homeless in the late 1980s.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion recently said that he plans to wrestle until he dies.
