Davey Boy Smith Jr, Several NXT Talents Work WWE SmackDown Dark Matches

Different names getting a look

A former WWE Tag Team champion, and several NXT performers, wrestled in dark matches before Friday night's SmackDown tapings in Houston.

Davey Boy Smith Jr (also known as Harry Smith and DH Smith) teamed with Austin Theory in a match against Odyssey Jones and Xyon Quinn. For the match, Smith wrestled as Harry Smith.

The son of "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith previously worked for WWE between 2006 and 2011. There, he held the unified WWE Tag Team titles with Tyson Kidd as The Hart Dynasty in 2010. Outside of WWE, Smith held the IWGP Tag Team titles three times with Lance Archer, the NWA World Tag Team titles twice with Archer, and the MLW World Tag Team titles with fellow Hart legacy associates Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jr.

Also working prior to SmackDown was NXT star Xia Li. She wrestled Aliyah, who is reportedly on her way to the Raw brand.

Signed to WWE in 2017, Li began wrestling in NXT that July. She competed in the 2020 Women's Royal Rumble match, and has won her last nine matches in NXT, dating back to October.
