Davey Richards Close To In Ring Return

The former ROH World Champion has been on a wrestling hiatus since 2017

Former ROH World Champion Davey Richards is close to a return to the ring. According to a report from PWInsider, Richards is due to make his long-awaited return with Global Syndicate Wrestling, with GSW set to hold their second ever show in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, on May 22.

Richards has been on hiatus since 2017, having last wrestled full-time with IMPACT/GFW. After GFW, Richards wrestled a handful of indie dates then left the business due to several knee injuries, and in order to become a doctor.

In his prime Richards was considered one of the best wrestlers in the world, with his solo work in ROH and PWG, as well as his tag work with Eddie Edwards as The American Wolves, earning critical acclaim from fans and peers alike.

Throughout his career, Richards has held titles in IMPACT, ROH, NJPW, CZW, and PWG amongst others, and was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler of 2011 by The Wrestling Observer.
