AEW Blood & Guts had David Arquette in attendance backstage
When you think of Blood & Guts you’ll no doubt think of the vaunted WarGames matches of WCW/NWA, whether the double ring variant, or triple cage version deployed in WCW’s dying days. And who knows more about the latter than David Arquette?
The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion memorably tangled inside the ‘Ready to Rumble’ cage in the year 2000, turning on Diamond Dallas Page in order to gift the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to Jeff Jarrett. In 2024, Arquette is mainly just a spectator and fan of professional wrestling, and a report from PWInsider states that Arquette was backstage for Blood & Guts IV on July 24, with Arquette visiting Dynamite as it rolled through Nashville, Tennessee.
After his disastrous WCW run, Arquette later went on to ‘pay his dues’ on the indies, with Nick Gage memorably stabbing the Scream star deep with a broken light tube in a GCW match in 2017. Arquette later pitched working with Cody Rhodes in AEW on an episode of Dynamite, but it never came to be, with Arquette being rebuffed by TNT whilst trying to promote his You Cannot Kill David Arquette wrestling documentary.
