It's being reported here, there, and everywhere today - Dean Ambrose has officially handed in his notice, informing WWE that he will be leaving the company once his contract has expired at the end of April.

Ambrose was offered a new contract that included a raise a few weeks ago but informed WWE of his decision over the weekend before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The former Shield member, according to

PWTorch

.com at least, had a face-to-face meeting with Vince McMahon.

The Lunatic Fringe has also told the company that he isn't open to negotiating a new deal in order to get more money - he's off.

Even though his contract isn't up until a couple of weeks after 'Mania, PWTorch speculate that WWE could want to write Dean off television before that - which could explain why he was booted out of the men's Royal Rumble match by Aleister Black so early before losing clean to Seth Rollins on last night's episode of Raw.

One of the reasons cited by

PWTorch

for Ambrose wanting to leave is down to how frustrated he's been with his character since returning from injury last year. "One of his colleagues on the roster, when asked tonight about Dean’s demeanor lately and if there were any signs of discontent, said “he’s pretty much impossible to read.” He added, though, that Dean “hates hokey sh–” and, since so much of his character has been portrayed as hokey in the last few years, he’s not surprised that would have built up frustration leading to a breaking point," Wade Keller wrote.
