Dominik Mysterio Considering Changing His WWE Name, Wearing A Mask
Following in his father's footsteps...
Aug 20, 2020
At SummerSlam, Dominik Mysterio will compete in his first-ever professional wrestling match against Seth Rollins and they will go one on one in a Street Fight. The two Superstars have been feuding since May 2020 after The Monday Night Messiah almost blinded Rey Mysterio for the first time.
While Dominik will wrestle under his forename at The Biggest Party Of The Summer, the Mysterios revealed during an interview with ESPN they have discussed changing his in-ring name to Prince Mysterio. Neither wanted to do it at SummerSlam, however, as they are going to wait until Dominik has received more training.
Not only could Dominik be receiving a name change, but he may also don a mask in the future, carrying on his father's legacy.
"We actually talked about it. He definitely has to continue with the Mysterio dynasty. It's in his genes," The Master Of The 619 said. "I think we're going to incorporate that eventually and create a good story so the fans can understand the rich history behind Lucha libre and the masks."
Dominik added: "I've always wanted to wear a mask mainly because of tradition. It's important to keep that tradition going. Now with my face being out there, I think it would just have to be introduced a little bit differently so people understand. I definitely want to wear one, but it has to be introduced properly."
