Report: September 2 Episode Of WWE NXT To Be Moved Because Of NHL Playoffs

An unopposed night for AEW: Dynamite...

Back on August 3, TNT announced the August 19, August 26 and September 16 episodes of AEW: Dynamite had been moved because of the network's coverage of the NBA Playoffs. The August 19 show will be broadcast on Saturday, August 22, while the latter two episodes were switched to Thursday, August 27 and September 17. Tony Khan also confirmed recently that AEW will broadcast two episodes of Dynamite in one week in September as a special one-hour show will air following the NBA playoffs on September 16.

Sports playoffs haven't only affected AEW, however, as Dave Meltzer first reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the September 2 edition of NXT will be preempted by the NHL playoffs and the show will instead air on September 1.

While neither the USA Network nor WWE have confirmed the change, the schedule on the USA Network website has NXT listed as taking place on September 1 at 8 pm EST. NHL Hockey is currently pencilled into the black and gold brand's regular timeslot on September 2.
