Don Callis Believes Kenny Omega Would've Ended Up In Impact If AEW Didn't Exist

The two have demonstrated a strong bond...

Kenny Omega in Impact Wrestling? Don Callis thinks the pieces would've fallen into place if not for AEW.

Callis and Omega did a joint interview with Fight Game Media, where the two Manitoba natives spelled out the extent of their close relationship. As a co-Executive Vice President of Impact Wrestling, Callis spoke with certainty that Omega would have eventually come on board with the organization.

“I’ll say this: If AEW had not come into play...Kenny Omega would have come into Impact Wrestling," Callis asserts. "Not that he ever agreed to it, but it’s something that Scott D’Amore and I would have made happen.”

Callis has played a strong part in Omega's success, both as a commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and in helping make the Omega/Chris Jericho match at Wrestle Kingdom 12 a reality.

"Don...elevated all of my major performances in New Japan with moments that were just as special as the moves being performed in the ring," Omega said. "It’s all part of the production and part of what makes a good match a great match, or a great match, a classic.”

Though an executive for Impact, Callis has made recent appearances in AEW, most notably as a guest commentator for Omega's number one contender's tournament win over Adam Page at Full Gear.
